Old Quarter
Benidorms Old Quarter is situated on the promontory that seperates the 2 main beaches. This origianly was the old fishing village that developed into the tourist mecca that Benidorm has become. The old town has many quaint narrow lanes and alleyways, some unsuitable for tourist coaches.

The promenade
The promenade, the length of both the main beaches. Sit at one of many restaurants, cafes or bars. Sip your favourite drink, have a snack or meal and watch the world go by.
St. James Church (Iglesia de San Jaime)
St. James, Benidorm's parish church is located in the Old quarter. Profitable tuna fishing helped to pay for the church when building started in 1740. The church is typical of coastal churches with it's white walls and blue tiled roof.

January 5th is Twelfth Night and the celebration of the Three Kings.
February 11th to 17th is carnival time and election of the Carnival Queen.
March 15th to 19th is the procession of the Fallas and decorated floats through the streets.May 11th to 14th is the Foietes Fiesta with floral offerings
June 15th to 18th is the religious Corpus-Christi pilgrimage to the Church of the Almudena. 21st to 24th is the religious San Juan Bonfire Festival.
July 13th to 16th is the Local Festival in honour of the patron saint of the sea, the Virgen del Carmen, including an offering to the sea, which takes place in the bay.
September 7th and 8th is the religious pilgrimage to Asturias, fiesta and pilgrimage of the Virgen of Covadonga
October is the month of celebration. This is the festival of the Moors and Christians.
November. A major celebration held in honour of the Virgen del Sufragio and St. James the Apostle, during the second weekend of the month.December 8th. Religious celebration of the Immaculate Conception.
Aiguera Park
Aiguera Park is the largest park in Benidorm, built in central Benidorm, behind the old town. The park transformed a stretch of old riverbed. Enjoy the shade of the trees as you wander through this classic park.
Events are held at the theatre or open air amphitheatre in the warmer months.

Benidorm Beaches
- All 3 Beaches are Blue Flag.
- The 2 main beaches are on either side of the Old Town headland. Playa De Levante to the North East and Playa De Poniente to the South West. Both have beautiful golden sand.
- See the Sand artists construct fabulous displays in the sand.
- The beaches are facing South bathed in sun all day long whilst it shines.
- Dogs are not allowed on the beaches.
Playa De Levante
- 2km long, 70m wide Blue Flag Beach
- Playa De Levante is in the top ten beaches of the World, so it gets busy (crowded in July August) day and night, its clean white sand attracting the tourists from the high rise hotels that are behind the beach.
- A beach bar is centrally located near to where Av. de Europa meet the sea front Esplanade road
- There ate plenty of Cafe bars & restaurants along the other side of the Esplanade road.

Playa De Poniente
- 3km long, 80m 21m wide Blue Flag Beach.
- Playa De Poniente is not as central, on the other side of the old town. Another great beach.
Because it is quieter it's more popular with older people and families with younger children. - There ate plenty of Cafe bars & restaurants along the other side of the Esplanade road
Playa Mal Pas
- 70m long, 80m wide Blue Flag Beach.
- Playa Mal Pas is a smallish cove situated between the 2 main beaches immediatly to the West of the Old Town headland.
- The cove can be reached from the harbour or from the Castilla area via a long flight of steps, these are to the West of the Sant Jaume I Santa Anna church near the tip of the Benidorm's Old Town headland
- A restaurant, cafeteria & toilets are available at the Marina 50m from the beach.
- A Bar is located at the top of the steps to the headland old town
Quiet Coves
Just outside Benidorm are a selection of quieter coves and beaches some popular with nudists and gays.
