Altamira Palace / Castle (Palacio De Altamira & Archaeological & History Museum (MAHE)

- A prison in the Wesatern Wing during the Civil War
- A Textile Factory in 1915 - 1960 in the courtyard parade ground
- Now:
- It is the location of Part of the Archaeological & History Museum.
- A wide underground exhibition Corridor joins the the building of the Archaeological & History Museum (Museu Arqueològic i d'Història d'Elx. MAHE)
- The parade ground is also used for cultural & social events.
- It is the location of Part of the Archaeological & History Museum.
- The Keep, Torre del Homenaje. has machicolations on three of it's sides. These overhang the battlements which allowed defenders to drop stones, or fire upon attackers at the foot or the wall, or scaling it.
